Early morning, Topsail

It is not daylight yet and have turned off the airconditioning and am sitting in the Valencia room working. Could not sleep. Topsail is quiet. Bonnie and Bill's house was empty this weekend for the first time in I don't know how long. Therefore, I had no one to go out and play with. Perhaps that means no one to shop and drink wine with.

Joe made a fabulous dinner last evening and it seems to have finally lightened my mood. I drove to Charleston and back this week and then flew to West Palm Beach. I was exhausted from the travel. Anyway, he cooked chicken and a vegetable medley of yellow squash, zuccini and mushrooms.

We have been sorting the notes and books from Grandmom's house and today we started reading the post card album from when Joe worked in England, Germany and Australia and traveled about those counries. There are far fewer cards from Australia as I wrote a travelogue during that year and Mother and I e-mailed each other, often IMing from our continent to hers; Australia to America. I can't remember the time difference but If I logged on first thing in the morning, it was the next day in America and we kept a nice conversation going almost everyday. I cannot imagine ever having had that kind of time.

I am using this loaner computer and occasionally, it decides to hibernate without telling me. The power cord slips out of the back and I don't think the battery lasts very long.

Almost 7 and the sky is just beginning to show light. Perhaps it's time for a nap. As Joe used to tell Mom in his post cards. I'll write more later.
